Having sat my GCSEs and A Levels not too long ago, I have managed to find learning and revision techniques that are useful for achieving the best of your abilities.
In the sessions it is important to firstly, discuss current achievement and progress in order to identify areas of improvement. Once we have identified what needs working on, we will create clear and achievable goals; lesson plans will be catered around these goals. For example, if you are confident in your knowledge but struggling with exam questions we can work on exam structure, writing technique and applying your knowledge within the exam board's criteria - I have a big focus on exam past papers and practise questions; practising exam questions is the key way to measure progress and improve exam technique! If you are struggling with consolidating your understanding of the content, with the use of different resources, I will teach each topic and make sure that everything is understood before moving on.
I adapt my teaching style in order to cater for everyone's needs and make the material as interesting as possible to ensure everything is remembered! I make sure to involve the student throughout the sessions to make sure they are engaged and that we are working together towards their goals. I will plan a lesson prior to teaching, and make any changes to it based on your feedback. I aim to make you realise how capable you are, and leave you with better test scores and understanding of the course.
