What is the difference between 2-D shapes and 3-D shapes?
Two dimensional or 2-D shapes are plane shapes that have only one face. They also have only length, breadth or width and do not have any thickness. Examples of 2-D shapes are the squares, rectangle, triangle,closed circle, a piece of paper shape, the shape of the chalkboard, etc..
While, Three dimensional or 3-D shapes are common solid shapes which have length width or breadth, height or depth. Examples of such solids are a chalk box, a soap box, a cube of sugar, cubes, cuboid, cylinder, triangular pyramid, square pyramid, triangular prism, rectangular prism, etc.
