Hello Advei ,I completely understand your concern. To help your child with GCSE English Literature, you can start by reading the texts alongside her, discussing the themes, characters, and any questions she may have. Encourage her to take notes and jot down her thoughts as she reads. Additionally, consider finding study guides or online resources to aid in her understanding. Making the subject more enjoyable could involve connecting the themes to her interests or discussing the texts with her, providing a platform for open and engaging conversations. Remember, patience and support are key to her success. Alternatively, I offer tutoring lessons for GCSE English literature, I recently passed my GCSE English literature exam with a grade 8, 3 marks from a grade 9, I understand the subject very well, at first it was hard for me too as I was new to the country and didn't have a massive understanding of the language but with a lot of practice and guidance it became very easy. The main problem is not understanding the text and what is going on, when that it solved everything becomes a lot less complicated and easy to understand the context and analyze the text in the highest quality and achieve the best grades she can, if she is interested in some online tutoring I can offer her a free lesson and see how she likes it, I can give examples of my own GCSE work making her feel comfortable and understood!

You need a tutor who has the ability to instill love for reading in your child. This is difficult with a second language, so the tutor should also be a coach in enhancing language competences. Also...it is very, very important to use authentic material, and material which is appropriate to the level. You can't expect an 11 year-old just learning English to approach Shakespeare.
