Is it possible to learn old English?

I'm passionate about medieval literature and historical series and I really want to learn the ancient structures of the language, but I can't find anyone who teaches Old English. Could it be because it's no longer taught?

Hi Miranda, I studied old English (Chaucer and Ovid) at university in my final year. Although this was over 20 years ago, I would think there are still university and other courses available. Maybe look on university websites and contact their English and Classics departments? You may not want to study it at university, but perhaps someone in the department could give you some advice about other courses or books? I hope this helps. All the best, Michelle Mildiner
