I was in the same position aswell, decided to take it and its gone well. Further maths is still just maths all you have to do is practise a lot more and keep up with the work as you go.
A grade 7 or above in GCSE maths should qualify you for further and you'll be fine.

Hi Shannon!
I studied both at A-level. Further Maths is defiantly a big challenge, but it's more than do-able if you put in the work! :)
A few things to consider:
- Can you take Further Maths without Maths? At some colleges, Further Maths can only be taken if you are also studying Maths A-Level.
- How many subjects are you taking? If Further Maths is your 4th subject, you can study it for 1-year at an AS-level, and then decide if you want to continue it or drop down to just your 3 other A-Levels and keep your AS-level Further Maths qualification (Many colleges advise this)
- What are your plans after A-Levels? If you're planning to go to University, have a look at the requirements for the courses you want. Do they require Further Maths, or would you be better focusing on three subjects?
I hope this helps!
Best of luck with your studies
