I have a lot of experience teaching people maths at GCSE level and I try to make my lessons fun and engaging to the students so they enjoy my lessons and want to study instead of feeling forced to. The way I structure my lessons is by explaining the concept I'm teaching first and if the students don't understand something I encourage them to ask questions. As soon as everyone is okay with that part I start by giving them easy questions to get used to using the concepts. As soon as I feel they're okay with that I move on to harder questions and so on. When they can do the hardest questions I make them practice. I don't force students to do loads of questions if I feel like they understand the lesson well. But I'd give them a few hard questions a week because the consistency and practice will make it second nature for them. This way the lessons are fun and don't get boring and most importantly the students will learn.
