More than just Violin Lessons... Emma uses Inspirational Musical Methods to Develop and Nurture your child’s Natural Musical Ability to grow into a well-rounded Mini Musician!

Emma has enjoyed over 20 years experience teaching the Violin and Musicianship to children and young people in schools. She now enjoys dedicating her time to teaching pupils privately, either In-Person or Online - from pre-school age to adult.

Lessons take place in Ipswich - Suffolk IP4 - close to Sidegate Primary School and Northgate High School.

Emma completed her Music PGCE in 2001 - at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester - with a Specialist focus in String Teaching. She also studied Kodaly Musicianship, Dalcroze Eurythmics and Improvisation.

Emma teaches using ideas from Kaleidoscopes - working with Children from the age of 3 upwards (with parental support) as well as with Adults.

Beginner lessons consist of a variety of activities - making the experience fun and enjoyable and leaving students wanting to go home and continue playing!
Activities include Singing (to develop Ear-Training) Movement Exercises (to develop the physicality of violin playing) and Piano Playing (to develop finger dexterity and allow students the joy of playing several songs by ear with limited guidance).
These skills are later transferred very naturally onto the Violin - through a combination of Kodaly Methodology, Montessori Education and the Suzuki Philosophy.

Emma also enjoys guiding and supporting more experienced students with their violin technique, tone production and general musicianship; preparing them for ABRSM exams if and when they wish to undertake these.

Emma offers Lessons both in-person and Online.

She currently teaches during the daytime (weekdays) for preschool and home-schooled children as well as adults. She also has some availability for after-school and Saturday morning lessons.
