Advert description
There are many online music education options, and trying to decide between them can be overwhelming. An abundance of information is available, but trying to apply newfound knowledge can be frustrating on your own at times or leave you lacking the results or understanding you might be seeking. Working with an instructor one-on-one is still one of the best approaches to efficiently learning and applying musical concepts and techniques.
I've been a professional musician for 20 years in the United States and the UK, working extensively as a performer, studio musician, and educator. I've written online guitar courses for Truefire and The Roth Academy, teach online for Riffhard and have taught countless students of all age groups and ability levels. I have a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance and have helped many people prepare for auditions and further their skills after graduation from Universities.
Online lessons are usually conducted via Zoom/Facetime/Skype and run for about 55 min. After the lesson, I will send a video recap of our discussion for later reference and review. Written/Digital materials can be provided when necessary. Most students come to me to understand the fretboard, theory, improvisation, soloing, rhythm guitar, time, and a general understanding of the role of the guitar in a band context. Theory, improvisation, and time concepts apply to any instrument, and I've taught lessons to sax, piano, bass, and trumpet players in addition to guitar.
If this seems like a good fit, get in touch, and we can get to work! I look forward to working with you.
