Highly experienced maths tutor

I have over 30 years experience teaching mathematics to all ages in one-to-one tutorial colleges in Oxford. With a MSc in mathematical physics and a PhD in Shakespeare studies, I have a strong educational background.

I have a calm, friendly, and clear approach. I tend to draw pictures (and sometimes cartoons) to make a problem clear (see my website for examples of my cartoons )

The message I convey to my students is that everyone is capable of making errors, and they should be seen positively as an opportunity to improve.

My work is to a very high standard as I have published academic physics books and papers. I have also published books of mathematics and logic puzzles for major publishers.

If the student is serious about improving then I guarantee that we can make excellent progress.

I have a two-camera Zoom setup with one camera focused on a writing pad so the mathematical arguments can easily be followed.
