Advert description
My name is Saeed Saberi. For as long as I can remember, I found joy and inspiration in transferring my knowledge to others. However, it is not just my enthusiasm for teaching that makes me an excellent educator. For me being a teacher always meant being patient, being a good listener, showing empathy, and inspiring students.
I was ranked first among the Undergraduate students in my class, received acceptance from one of the best universities in Iran for my master’s degree, and worked as a senior geotechnical engineer for one of the leading geotechnical engineering firms in Tehran. But it dawned on me that I was only at the beginning of my journey with bigger goals and dreams that I had set for myself. Even though I had worked hard to achieve my dream of becoming an engineer, I felt like something was missing. The moment I started to teach, I felt alive and motivated. I felt as though I had finally found that missing piece I was longing for. I decided that the next step for me would be to begin working as a teacher. I changed my entire life and career, to pursue the field I felt I could make the most difference.
Now for almost seven years, I have taught numerous courses in schools and am coaching international students in IB Math HL, GCSE, A level, SAT preparation, and even calculus I, II, and III for engineering students. I’ve been a tutor in Tehran since May 2015, and an international tutor since June of 2017 teaching courses for students working on their bachelor’s in civil engineering and high school students. I had the opportunity to work with students in Australia, Canada, England, Italy, Korea, Pakistan, The United States, and many other parts of the world. Finally, Here I am a PGCE student at Oxford University to become a real math teacher in the UK.
