Advert description
Hello! I'm Hannah and I studied theoretical physics at university, and a PhD in Ultrasound research. Now I am training to be a secondary maths teacher in Scotland, so I specialise in Scottish Nat5, Higher and Advanced Higher maths.
I've always loved maths with such a passion. When I was in high school I always had so much fun learning new things and trying to get 100% on all the tests. Maths is so important and it can be used in so many different ways. I'm using it to try and understand how ultrasound images work, but there are so many exciting opportunities in science and engineering that you need a strong maths background for. I really hope I can encourage and inspire students to enjoy learning maths!
I have been teaching maths to first year university students for 4 years now, which is a similar level to the further maths A level. I'm really keen to teach a whole range of levels across high school and reduce the stigma that maths is difficult, because it can be so rewarding when things finally click!
I like to teach maths through looking at example problems we might encounter in an exam, but breaking in up and explaining the process in an entertaining way. Some of the most fundamental formulas can be learned by thinking of diagrams and acronyms, I also like to make up funny little expressions to help you remember key formulas!
I believe anyone can get an A in maths and I look forward to working with you to achieve this goal!
