Basic Calculus And Algebra Tutor

Hello! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Carleton College and completed most of the coursework for a Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. My PRAXIS Core Academic Skills - Math score was a 200 (the highest possible), and I scored above the 85th percentile for PRAXIS Biology: Content Knowledge. I have taught in the classroom or have tutored students in Middle School Math through Pre-calculus (including Common Core), high school and college Statistics, Biology and AP Biology, Chemistry, Earth/Space Science, Physical Science, APES, and Environmental Science.

As we all know, however, test scores and numbers do not define a person’s success. What you really need to know about me is that I spent 6 years teaching middle school and high school math and science at a small boarding school for students with AD/HD and other LDs including ASD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. I understand the struggles these students have had in traditional classroom settings and I excel at building confidence and making connections. I have tutored several students in various high school and college math and science classes. They have all showed significant improvement in grades and content knowledge, but more importantly, they regained confidence in their own academic abilities.
