Native Turkish English Teacher with 18 years of experience

Advert description
Turkish is my native language. I was born and raised in Turkey. Most importantly, I am a language teacher already. You want to learn Turkish? I can help. You are Turkish and your children cannot speak Turkish? I can help. Please have a look at my background:

I studied English Literature and Language at Ankara University, one of the most prominent universities in the country and graduated in 2005. I have worked as an English teacher over 18 years, most of which was at the level of higher education.

I have taught English at every level from beginner to advanced, and I have helped prepare countless students for language exams such as Cambridge exams, Pearson PTE, the TOEFL and IELTS.

I have got a handful certificates like a Tefl Certificate from Hunter College, the City University of New York, A teacher trainer certificate from International House London, and I am currently doing my Delta training and hoping to finish it soon.

Every learner has a different need or a different way of learning, and every subject or topic may require a distinct approach. Therefore, A teacher should not be confined to one method, and an eclectic approach will serve well to consolidate the learning process.
My initial steps with students is about finding which cable leads to the students' fiber cable to their learning. That being said, any method that activates learners' visualization will serve well, like acting out sentences. I love teaching vocabulary especially in phrases and sentences. I like making them fun and enjoyable.

Tansu is a friendly teacher and I need to trust my teacher about learning English. This is very important to me. He is definitely a patient person and my lessons were very enjoyable. I think I will take lessons again to improve my current level. I haven't learned English for a long time with other teachers but Tansu teacher made me happy about this. Thank you very much.

I am an expat in Istanbul and have lived there for about 4 years. We met in Turkey 3 years ago, and my Turkish was limited to a few daily words and sentences like "bilmiyorm (I don't know)" "yabanciyim (I am an alien)" and a few swear words the local taught me as a prank (Turks love that) Fortunately, we worked in the same school and he had time for me often even if he was inundated with work. He is really great at acting out what he is teaching. His corrections are on the spot, and most importantly he is incredibly patient with his students. I would say he knows a lot of words, but it is his mother tongue after all. However, he knows how to convey the knowledge... As a teacher myself, I can vouch for him.
