I espouse student-centric methodologies based on a mixture of John Dewey and Paulo Freire's progressive teaching approaches where learning spaces are designed to a greater extent by the learner's needs. I am merely a facilitator during the sessions as my students gain knowledge and skills from the tutorial sessions.
Each session would normally start with a quick recap of at least five key take-away from the previous sessions to ensure that the learning process of continuous and practical in a measurable way at each step of the tutorial sessions. The actual lesson will be based on active learning ( formative assessment methods) where each student participates and share opinions of how best each concept fits into his or her overall learning process involving how the technical vocabulary is broken down and the relative illustrations (visual graphics) are explained in terms of real exam questions. The comprehension check will wrap up the sessions with everyone actively participating directly (whole class) or indirectly(private one-on-one with me) .
Short periodic practice questions to gauge our preparedness towards the main goals/objectives of the tutorial will be conducted based on the student's / students' specification and input at the start of the tutorial program ( summative assessment).
Finally, it is important for all students to shape their own progress by candidly sharing their opinion about their performance regularly after the formative or summative assessments)
