Computing for grade 6 to 11

Hello and welcome! My name is Archchana and I am excited to offer computing classes for students in grades 6-12.

I am currently a PhD student in Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, University of Surrey. With over 4+ years of experience in teaching computer science, I have had the privilege of working as a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology. In this roles, I have been responsible for conducting lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions, as well as preparing course materials, marking exams and assignments, supervising student projects, conducting presentations and viva sessions, and organizing university events such as hackathons, code fests, and student workshops.

My teaching style emphasizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. I believe that each student has unique learning needs and styles, and I am committed to creating personalized learning experiences that cater to these individual differences. My goal is to help students develop a solid understanding of the fundamentals of computer science and programming, while also inspiring them to explore new areas of interest and develop a lifelong love of learning.
