Advert description
I am an 18 year old student from Birmingham, currently studying a BSc in Computer Science in Leeds. I developed my teaching skills by helping my sister to understand topics for her GCSEs. I’ve always had a love for problem-solving so Maths, Physics, and Computer Science quickly became my favourite subjects in school. I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Computer Science as well as two grade 8’s in Physics and Maths. My passion for these subjects continued as I went on to choose them as my three A-Level subjects, in which I achieved an A* in all of them.
My experience comes from informally tutoring friends/family members from a range of age groups. This gave me practice with one-to-one sessions and saw many of the students increase their grades. I helped them to understand the fundamentals of the topic they were struggling with which gave them the skills they needed to progress and achieve the grades they wanted.
Lessons will be an hour long, held on Zoom or another online service, and will allow the student to choose how they learn best (E.g. exam questions, textbook questions, active recall, etc). I will ask the student/guardian which topic(s) they would like me to cover ahead of the next lesson. This will allow me to gather plenty of useful resources such as questions and help-sheets so we can make the most of the lesson. My lessons are for students at GCSE level or below.
