Qualified Science teacher offering affordable tutoring for all ages

I am an experienced and dedicated science tutor, specialising in biology, who wants the best for all my students. I have a PhD in evolutionary genetics and over 10 years of experience in successfully preparing students for their exams, whether that’s GCSEs or A-levels.

I also have experience of marking A-level biology papers which allows me to support my students further and provide them with important information on how to achieve top grades.

As a tutor, my students have always made significant progress and grown in their confidence and understanding of the subject. My proudest achievement is a year 9 student who was achieving grades 4 or 5 on most of his tests and is now consistently achieving grade 9 and talking about taking biology at A-level.

My tutoring sessions are flexible so that they can be tailor-made for each individual student. For some students, I will spend more time going through the theory so that they have a good understanding of the subject content, whereas for other students I’ll spend more time on exam questions looking at how to tackle particular questions. The end result will always be the same though, with a student feeling confident in that subject area.

When I feel it is necessary, I will give students homework to complete before their next session. On top of this, I will always provide advice on what to do between sessions to ensure they get the most out of their time with me as well as revision tips when it is necessary.

I will also update parents after each session about their child’s progress and the next steps.
