I have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Education), which has given me a solid knowledge and understanding of chemistry as well as efficient teaching methods. My education encompasses a thorough understanding of scientific ideas as well as hands-on experience in the laboratory. I am adept at developing engaging lesson ideas that stimulate students' curiosity and knowledge.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, I have successfully taught science at Key Stages 3 and 4, and chemistry at Key Stage 5. My expertise spans working with the full ability range, adapting my approach to inspire and challenge students of all levels. I am skilled in fostering a deep understanding of scientific concepts while cultivating critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My commitment to excellence has been demonstrated through consistently achieving strong outcomes and instilling a love for science in my students. I take pride in creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment that drives success. For example, in Nigeria, from September 2000 to January 2022, I worked as a science, and advanced level chemistry teacher in reputable schools and colleges that runs British Curriculum. My academic track records of students’ performance in both internal and external examinations were excellent. Moving to the United Kingdom in January 2022, opened me to science teacher opportunities in schools in Wales, and England. Since then, till now, I have positively impacted to students’ scientific knowledge, and skills.
I am a motivated and competent science and chemistry teacher who has demonstrated the ability to teach, motivate and involve pupils in scientific inquiry and critical thinking. My skills are in creating and executing thorough schemes of work that are connected with the national school curriculum, resulting in a structured and effective learning experience for students.
With good oral, listening, reading, and written communication skills, I excel in explaining complicated scientific concepts in a straightforward and understandable manner. I am proficient in both literacy and numeracy, including the efficient incorporation of ICT into classes to improve student learning and engagement.
