Science, English, Maths tutor all levels, all ages

Hi! I am an undergraduate medicine student currently in my second year. I have been working in education for 2 years, and as a private tutor for over a year. Most of my students are GCSE combined science or A level chemistry students, and this is the majority of the work I do.

I organise my lessons by asking students in initial introductions what they would like from the lessons, e.g. if they would benefit more from exam practise or content coverage more. I ask students to rate topics of their specifications in red, amber, or green. I then use this list to organise and plan lessons, giving more weighting to red (harder) topics.

A lot of my lessons are visual, as I have found this to be the best way to explain scientific concepts.

Aside from sciences, I also teach English Literature at both A level and GCSE. These lessons are focused on both literary theory and mainly exam practice. I do a lot of practise essay writing with students, and mark a lot of the work with the students, focusing the teaching on what the examiners will look for.
