Advert description
Hi! I am Maria, a university student studying Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Warwick. As well as being incredibly passionate about the subject, I am very familiar with the secondary school curriculum offered for Chemistry, including the GCSE Chemistry syllabus for the exam boards AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR. I am available to help any students from the ages of 11-16 who would like some extra help in their studies, and hope to offer them guidance in preparation for any upcoming homework, exams or classes through the use of helpful revision and exam techniques, and content revision. Lessons usually vary between 1-2 hours, and what is focused on depends on the student's specific needs and areas of difficulty, so that they feel more comfortable with those topics that challenge them the most.
Chemistry has always been a passion of mine, which is what led me to study it at University to focus on its specific applications to Medicine. Before starting university, I studied Maths, Biology and French alongside Chemistry at A-level. Studying Maths and Biology with Chemistry allowed me to link and find connections between the topics, helping to gain a deeper understanding of the learning material. Finding links between topics, as well as learning and asking questions beyond the specification proved to be a useful tool when mentoring younger pupils in school at GCSE stage. Having studies Chemistry throughout my secondary school education, I am aware of the challenges, alongside the benefits, faced when learning the subject, and I hope to offer guidance and techniques to students studying it in school now.
