Advert description
I have an Undergraduate and Masters degree in ecology and marine biology and I am currently a PhD candidate studying marine biochemistry (and much more, ask me about it!). I'm a SCUBA diving instructor and public speaker. That all sounds fancy but really, my passion for wildlife and the natural world underpins all of what I do. Biology and the sciences are all interconnected and it all is incredibly fascinating and relevant to our modern world. I enjoy to learn, hence my research career thus far, but I love to teach and engage people of all ages in the world of biology. In fact, I believe it is essential to have those in the cutting edge of scientific research to not only step back to the foundation of scientific learning, but be able to relate this foundation to the cutting edge of scientific research for the student to see how this knowledge is relevant (and downright vital!).
I use presentation, interactive tutorial, open discussion and a vast array of techniques to tailor to the interests and passions of my students. I have taught persons of 11 years through to 60 years old, supervised many undergraduate and masters students and spoken at international conferences.
Also, I just really love sharks.
