My experience as a foster carer, together with training in counselling and coaching, has provided me with a unique perspective, enabling me to empathize deeply with those who have experienced ACEs such as trauma, abuse, poverty, neglect, overcrowding etc. I approach every interaction with sensitivity, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others navigate their own personal journey.
Whilst I’ve assisted with some home-schooling during my fostering years, my classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant was at Primary and Secondary level, mostly with SEN learners. Secondary level working included behaviour support and mentoring.
In each of my roles I have worked in safeguarding. I have a good understanding of what safeguarding issues can occur in families and when working with children, and the importance of information sharing. I would, however, be very happy to have my safeguarding training refreshed.
I do not have a current DBS but I do have a full driving license and my own vehicle.
I am interested in the position advertised as a remote/online coaching opportunity, working 1-1 with students.
