Advert description
Good day potential future student!
I have lived in a significant number of countries throughout my life and come from a multicultural and multilingual background. I have had the privilege to work across multiple industries, the most important and relevant ones to being a tutor are as follows:
- European Youth Parliament: provided me with a fantastic basis for public-speaking, roles in journalism, debating, analytical and critical thinking, as well as great communication skills.
- Cambridge English exam & International Baccalaureate: creative writing, reading and critical thinking abilities.
- 3 years of studies in New Zealand in Social Sciences - full academic terminology in English in a plethora of subjects
- Worked as a freelance translator for various projects, mostly in English, Dutch and French
- Worked with special needs: emphasised the importance to adapt to a variety of situations with a solution-based and empathetic approach
- Teacher aid (English) for refugee children: reinforced my understanding of the importance of learning through play and multicultural awareness
- Worked in Australia for 3 years in mental health, child safety and domestic violence: these industries might not seem to be relevant to tutoring at first hand, but I believe they are invaluable because they have taught me the importance of compassion, inclusivity, and coming up with innovative and creative solutions. Not to mention I have been lucky enough to work with children, youth and adults, groups that each bring their own quirks and potential challenges to the table (yet so rewarding).
I am eager to share this beautiful "patchwork" of skills, knowledge and tools with you, and look forward to collaboratively find the best way for you to reach your goals in the most innovative, creative and fun way!
Have a gorgeous day,
L.
