The structure of each lesson is standardised to ensure that each student is receiving quality services and receives enough time to raise enquires. However, each students structured learning is customised to their own learning styles (Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinaesthetic). All lessons will consist of retrieval and retention prompts to help consolidate information learnt in all lessons.
An example of a standard 3-session class layout consists of the following
DAY1: INTRODUCTION AND ASSESSMENT
Day one is allocated to identifying the learning style of the student which will done through a short verbal and visual quiz. The student will also be subjected to a short English test, the have the option of having it be verbal or written, depending on the current level. Finally, the student will set a goal the aim to achieve by attending this session.
DAY2: RESULTS AND DEBRIEF
Day two will begin with a breakdown of the observations found in the previous session, of the students learning style and current English level. In addition, the session will include a full breakdown of the lesion plans for the next few weeks. The student has the option to receive the contents of this session as an email; however, I advise that the student receive this information directly to avoid misinterpretation or failure to translate the contents of the email, as found in previous lessons.
To conclude day two, an introduction to English as a daily topic will start. The contents of this will vary depending on the level of the student understanding of the English language. If they’re a beginner I will introduce phonetics and word formation. For an intermediate student we will work through the process of understanding the formation of sentences and associating the English language to the daily routine and environment.
Every session is completed when a set task/homework is fully understood for the next session.
DAY3: STANDARD CLASS STRUCTURE
10Mins: Recollection quiz based on the contents of the last lesson.
20 Mins: Homework/ task debrief and corrections
1-2 Hours: structured learning
20 Mins: lesson summarisations

On average a lesson duration is 2hrs 45min to 3hrs. This can be renegotiated based on the students’ requirements.
