Every one of my lessons will be thoroughly planned out, making use of PowerPoint presentations, as well as extremely useful online resources that will benefit my students massively such as exams questions from Corbett Maths, Physics and Maths Tutor and so on. I will have students go over the content during my lesson as well as having them complete exam questions as this has been proven to be one of the most effective learning methods. Each lesson will be one hour long and will happen once per week unless requested otherwise by the student.
I have 2 years of experience of teaching in an Arabic school and undertook a tutoring program in which I tutored a GCSE Mathematics student, allowing him to successfully increase his understanding of a subject he was struggling in.
I believe I will be able to develop a friendly relationship with students in order to allow them to feel more comfortable around me, enabling them to ask questions without feeling embarrassed. A friendly dynamic is very important to me as it shows the student that the tutor is making an effort.
Finally, I will provide students with excellent resources to complete in their own time. This will mostly be exam questions as these are very useful in allowing the student to get to know the structure of exams, and allows them to know the best ways to gain full marks. I expect all of my students to complete the work I have set them, however I may also provide leniency depending on the student's personal situation. I will not try to increase the workload on the student at all if they are feeling stressed.
