Over the last 25 years I have worked almost exclusively throughout South and Central America as well as mainland Spain in bilingual language teaching and academic management.

However as of early 2023 I returned to my home town of Paisley in Scotland to become a full timer carer of my elderly parents (Government partially funded) supplementing my income through Spanish tutoring.

I love being a Spanish tutor and Spanish Language lecturer. I have a full Master's degree in the Spanish language and Latin American studies augmented by various business qualifications and achievements in translation, interpretation and publications realized in that continent not least as Senior Operations Manager charged with the smooth running of the Chilean Navy’s National Language Centre based in Valparaiso.

Prior to this experience I also spent several years in Chile managing an internal global publishing operation serving a major investment bank Deutsche Bank.

This team comprised over 100 multilingual employees worldwide with principal branches in India, Romania, China and Chile. Furthermore, as part of this venture, I worked in the financial banking sectors in New York, London, Sao Paulo and New Delhi.

I was also tasked exclusively by Deutsche Bank to manage and augment the bank’s publishing analyst base throughout the Americas.

Spanish has taken me on a fantastic adventure and I know that my enthusiasm based on a life long love for the language and cultures I have visited can help my students not only follow in my footsteps but push the envelope further and write even greater life stories.
