I have been an English and Drama teacher in secondary schools for over 10 years but I still find each lesson enjoyable. In my lessons you can expect a personalised lesson planned around your interests, goals and ability to ensure that you are successful in EVERY lesson. My passion lies in English language and creative writing but, with a background in Drama and Theatre , I also love literature and exploring both classic and new texts. Each lesson will enable you to develop your knowledge and skills in English as well as practising your communication skills in both written and spoken language. As every student is individual, every lesson will be different, tailored to enable you to achieve your own personal goals.
A typical session for Year 7,8 and 9 students could focus on basic spelling, punctuation and grammar, comprehension skills, creative writing, analysis skills, transactional writing or reading and decoding.
For Year 10 and 11 students, we can work towards specific GCSE papers or build upon your Key Stage 3 skills to ensure you are in good stead for Key Stage 4. Whatever area you would like to work or or build your confidence in, we can work together to create a plan to achieve your personal goals.
