I graduated from Leeds University in 2020 with a degree in Business Management and entered the corporate world working with exciting technology startups. Over time I have become less and less engaged with a corporate role and I have recently decided that I will leave it behind to pursue my dream of travelling the world and experiencing new cultures.

I have lived in the UK for all of my life and I am very proficient in the English language. Whilst I have not studied the language since GSCE, where I received a grade A, I am fascinated by language and proactively develop my vocabulary and articulation.

I have been studying Hindi for the past 6 months and I have also recently started to learn Spanish to help me on my travels. From doing this, I have gained firsthand experience in the rewards and challenges presented by language acquisition. Not only this, I believe learning new languages has aided my anticipation of the difficulties that students may encounter when learning English, this allows me to tailor my teaching in order to enhance the efficiency of lessons.

My international experiences have given me a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the value of cross-cultural communication. I have lived in New Delhi where I interacted with individuals from various backgrounds, further enhancing my intercultural competence. This experience allows me to bring a global perspective to the classroom, encouraging students to explore different cultures while improving their language skills.
