I am an experienced GCSE science and maths tutor who can help students achieve their goals.
I am a 4th year medical student studying at the University of Birmingham and have many experiences working with students of all ages. I achieved 3 A* grades in A-Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry and use my experiences to help students to achieve top grades.
My lessons are guided by the students. I ask them about topics they enjoy and topics which they struggle with and focus my lessons on these areas first. I start by assessing their current understanding of a topic and then use the majority of the lesson time to either recover areas they may struggle with or teach them new content to extend their learning. It is really important to me to understand how a student likes to learn so I can adapt my teaching style, whether this is through exam questions, diagrams or mind-maps.
I can also give advice into revision techniques to help with their exam revision. I mainly use exam questions as a form of practice and will give tips and advice about how to approach questions and exams.
At the end of lessons I can set some home practice, if the students would like this. These are a more general refresher of topics we have covered together and are set to the standard I feel will extend the student the best. In the following lesson we will go through the questions and I can give feedback about their performance.
