I am someone who has worked with many children and pre-teens/teenagers and as someone who is majoring and grew up doing Musical Theatre as well as sports, I am aware that every students needs are different comparative to another student. I wish to have the first "lesson" so that I am able to help assess what the student may need from me, what style of teaching works for them, what does not, is there anything that has helped them in the past that I can implement? These are all things we want to consider as I personally would always want to make sure they feel they are at the forefront and are the ones that are comfortable in the mode of teaching. I like to use imagery, editing and videos to help understand the subject further but some may prefer things like text or first hand sources to help them and both and whatever option may come up are all perfectly valid. I was a student who was very strong when given the right resources, I struggled with certain subjects due to the lack of resource and explanation given so I always want to make sure I am helping your child/the student with whatever they may need in order to be successful. I plan to have my lessons individually crafted for each students needs and have them be customisable and have different activities and dynamics used (if the student is interested) to help see what may or may not work.
