Álvaro Bernabé Barroso

Hola! My name is Álvaro and I am a native Spanish speaker from Spain.

My lessons are typically one hour long but I´m flexible about it. They can be conducted over Zoom, Google Meets, or Skype.
I follow a communicative approach to teaching but I tailor my methods to each individual student's needs.
A typical lesson starts with a review of the material covered in the previous one, followed by a presentation of new material. I then give the students time to practice what we've learned. Finally, we wrap up with a summary of the material covered.
I like conversational classes and try to provide as many opportunities to talk as possible, either with me or with your partner, in case you have one. I am very open and approachable. I also love to share my culture and talk about anything that might be interesting to my students.

About the materials, I usually like to stick to a textbook that follows a communicative approach, but I always supplement books with other activities, such as songs, videos, articles, etc. If you have a specific Spanish textbook that you'd like to use that will be fine as well.

I hold a master's degree in teaching Spanish as a foreign language from the Universidad Europea de Madrid and I also have a level 5 TEFL diploma (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). I have worked at summer camp, I have tutored kids for more than 2 years and I volunteered as a Spanish language group leader when I was at the University of Leeds.
