About my work as a teacher and teaching philosophy:
I have been teaching privately and in music schools for over 15 years, a variety of styles and techniques from beginners to advanced. Whether you are just starting or can already play, I can help you develop a solid practice routine that will target specific areas of playing, but, most importantly, I want you to develop your own voice on the instrument just as I’m always constantly doing.
I'm a firm believer that the best way to learn to play the guitar is to enjoy what you're learning. During our lessons together I will always make sure that we create a learning plan that suits your needs as a player and learner. Ultimately, these are your lessons and I am here to help you in whatever way you need, whether that is wanting to learn a couple of songs, speed up your playing, tidy up your playing or improve on your theory.
I like to make sure my lessons are always enjoyable because, from experience, I find that students who enjoy learning will always make more progress. I'm a down-to-earth guy who's easy to talk to and I always like to maintain that kind of relationship with my students. I want all of my students to feel comfortable discussing their playing with me as well as any problems you may have. This way we can maintain an easy-going environment where you can really push your playing to the next level. I'm always happy to answer any questions that my students might have. I will always approach the lessons with care and attention to the small details that help you become the best guitar player you can be.
