IS CONVERSATION OR GRAMMAR THE BEST WAY TO LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

We can answer this question by looking at the language as a wall, and we know that we cannot build a wall without bricks and mortar, surely you need to be the bricks, the grammar and the vocabulary and the mortar be the mixture that unites them. in a language it would be the action of assembling grammar and vocabulary and creating dialogues and conversations.

So it doesn't matter if you have a beginner or advanced level, you always need a combination of conversation and grammar. The main thing that would define how much each one needs is the level they are at and how much exposure to the language they have outside of the classroom.

For anyone with a beginner level, grammar would be at the core of their initial learning process, along with regular practice of basic conversations and expressions allowing them to begin to become familiar with listening comprehension and pronunciation of the language they are learning, but in this stage grammar is the main focus that helps them understand the structure and meaning of the language.

As for the more advanced levels, conversation is the way to help them achieve fluency and become familiar with everyday expressions and vocabulary, so the best way to learn a foreign language is the combination of grammar and conversation, taking into account that after learning the main grammar and vocabulary, the main focus will be the conversation where we will put what we have learned into practice and will allow us to learn everyday expressions that are mainly used in conversations.
